The design for the Nintendo Wii was conceived by Shigeru Miyamoto in 2001. He is the most famous games designer of Nintendo. When it was released, the world went out of its mind! The thought of being able to control a game by your body’s movement really caught the imagination of people around the world. And consequently the sales of the Wii Games Console went through the roof. Its main competitors were shocked!
The wii attracted customers form all walks of life, ages and sexes. Mostly women by the way. This is truly a revolution, because up untill now, men were more likely to buy games consoles.
This is why the Wii was king in the console wars- because it stood for what a gaming console should really be like: Fun for the whole family, and easy to get into to.
